Annapolis City Fair This Weekend

annapoliscitylogorAnnapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen reminds residents to come to City Dock this weekend and celebrate Annapolis!

“This City Fair combines family fun with the introduction of nonprofit organizations that support, entertain, educate, preserve and protect our City,” Mayor Cohen said.  “Come to City Dock and meet the many people and non-profit organizations that help our community.”

There are games to play, ponies to ride, and crafts to create. There will be yachts, schooners and boats of all kinds to board and explore:

  • Pride of Baltimore II will be docked at the City Fair.  Watch her sail into the Harbor and dock at the Fair on Saturday around noon
  • Marine Corps Won, a 36’ Trojan Tri Cabin
  • CRAB, aiding sailors with disabilities, will have the Freedom 20 at the event. It’s the boat that sailed non-stop around the Americas last year.

Back on dry land:

  • Annapolis Rowing Club will have a 40’ rowing shell
  • Annapolis Community Boating will let you climb into a canoe or kayak
  • Hospice Cup will have a craft station so kids can design a burgee
  • The US Coast Guard will have Coastie, the safety boat, there to say hello to all the kids
  • Learn to tie knots at the Annapolis Sail and Power Squadron booth

But wait, there’s more.  Godzilla returns!  Also, back by popular demand are children’s swings, pony rides, lego toy building bricks, and a moonbounce.  Play chess with knee-high chess pieces or test you skills with a member of the Annapolis Chess Club.

Join us Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, May 12, from noon to 5 p.m. The event will be at City Dock and is sponsored by the City of Annapolis in cooperation with the National Sailing Hall of Fame. For more information, go to: http://bit.ly/ZNtF0r
