On the morning of April 9, 2013, officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department and the Baltimore Police Department executed a search warrant at 1938 Hilltop Road in Pasadena as part of a joint investigation regarding information received about narcotics and firearms in the residence. The investigation originated as a narcotics investigation.
As a result, numerous weapons were seized along with narcotics (marijuana and oxycodone) and the investigation is ongoing. One suspect, 45-year-old John Thompson, was taken into custody and charged with various drug-related offenses. The investigation into the legality of the weapons is ongoing.
The suspect has not been charged with any weapons violations at this time. Also, it is not uncommon for law enforcement during a narcotics investigation to seize weapons for safekeeping and to ensure that no one is precluded from possessing those weapons.
