Man, 11-Year Old Arrested In Copper Thefts. Police in Annapolis arrested two people, including an 11-year-old, who they said were stealing copper pipes from an Annapolis Elementary School construction site. Officers were called to the site in the 100 block of Green Street around 8:30 p.m. Friday after getting a call from a neighbor near the school who reported seeing the thefts.

Substitute Teacher Accused Of Smoking Pot With Minors. A substitute school teacher in Anne Arundel County who was also a church youth group leader has been accused of smoking marijuana with two juveniles he was taking to a youth group event. Police and the county Department of Social Services said they began investigating allegations against Benjamin Siggers, 31, of Baltimore, in February. Siggers was a substitute teacher for the county, as well as a church group leader and counselor for the Severn United Methodist Church.

Speed Camera Grace Period Over In Annapolis. There are no more free rides for those who get caught by speed cameras in Annapolis. Annapolis police said the monthlong grace period to get drivers used to having the cameras around is over. From now on, anyone caught going 12 mph or more over the speed limit will get a $40 fine in the mail.

Man Killed, Woman Critical In Millersville Harley Crash.  A man was killed and a woman was critically injured Sunday night in a motorcycle crash in Millersville. Anne Arundel County police were called to the scene on Veterans Highway near Benfield Boulevard around 9 p.m. Sunday. Detectives said a 2008 Harley Davidson crashed after hitting a raised cement barrier on the southbound side of the road.
