2 Charged With Attempted Murder In Arundel Incidents. Two people have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in two separate incidents in Anne Arundel County that were reported Monday evening. The first incident happened around 5:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of Crownsville Road in Crownsville, where police said they found two men fighting, one of whom had a knife.

Community Leader Killed In City Hall Crash. Baltimore City police said a long-time Baltimore City employee was killed in a high-speed crash in front of City Hall. The incident happened at 100 North Holliday St. around 2:30 p.m. and ended with a black Acura striking the city employee before flipping in front of City Hall. The victim was taken to Shock Trauma, where he later died.

Cicadas To Return After 17 Year Absence. It’s been 17 years since Marylanders last had to deal with them, but a particular breed of cicadas will make its way back to the region in the next few weeks, experts said. The Brood II cicadas, which are unique to the eastern United States, haven’t been around since the Ramones were still together and President Bill Clinton was serving his first term in office.

Police Investigate Suspicious Incident At School. Baltimore County police are investigating a suspicious incident at school in Parkville. Police said a witness told them she saw a man, walking at dismissal time at 3:30 p.m. along the outer edge of Villa Cresta Elementary, carrying what appeared to be a shotgun. Authorities said they are unsure whether the man was carrying an actual weapon, and said their investigation showed the item he was carrying was pointed at the ground and not used in a threatening manner.
