Expert To Speak On Future Of Social Security

aacc logoWhat does the future hold for Social Security?  Ken Apfel, a former Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, will share his views on “Social Security and Its Future,” hosted by Anne Arundel Community College’s Peer Learning Partnership at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11.

A dynamic speaker, Apfel is a professor and director of the Management, Finance and Leadership Program at the University of Maryland.  His distinguished career has spanned over 20 years of Congressional and federal government service with positions in the Senate, the Office of Management and Budget, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Labor.

The Peer Learning Partnership (PLP), which operates under AACC’s Center on Aging, is a community of lifelong learners, who meet year-round for exceptional noncredit classes, dynamic discussion groups and lively cultural and social events.

The free presentation takes place at the Center for Applied Learning and Technology (CALT), Room 100, on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Registration and refreshments begin at 9 a.m.
