Authorities Search For Missing Queen Anne’s County Woman. Authorities are seeking the public’s help finding a Queen Anne’s County woman who they said has been missing since Friday. Maryland State Police said the Queen Anne’s County Emergency Operations Center received a call shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday reporting a missing woman. The caller, Wayne Pope, told responding officers his wife, 51-year-old Robin Pope had come to his home in the 100 block of Beach Road in Stevensville late Friday night to get some of her belongings. The two separated in December, and Pope told officers his wife had been staying at a home owned by a female friend on Kent Island.

Gun Control Bill Brings Large Crowds To Annapolis. As a gun-control measure that passed the Maryland Senate moves to the House for discussions, large crowds of supporters and opponents again gathered in Annapolis to voice their opinions on the controversial subject. Moms, dads, students, clergy and sportsmen chanted, some even danced to songs blaring over loud speakers, all in support of the governor’s gun control legislation under consideration in the House.

Eating Contest Raises $6K For Brain Tumor Survivor. Big hearts and big stomachs raised some big bucks for a local brain tumor survivor and her family, and now the 10-year-old is making miraculous strides toward recovery. The fundraiser helped make The Breakfast Shoppe in Severna Park the WBAL-TV Local Leader for this month. Ava Conklin, 10, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October 2011. After an emergency operation, she contracted meningitis, leading to a series of strokes that left her paralyzed, her family said.

Church Deacon Charged In Child Porn Case. A church deacon in Baltimore County faces a child pornography charge. County police arrested William Steven Albaugh, 66, at his home at 7:45 a.m. Friday on one count of possession of child pornography. He was released on $75,000 bond. Detectives said their investigation started last month, when Verizon Online notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that one of its subscribers had stored images of child pornography on Verizon’s online public backup storage, or cloud service.
