New CPR Technique Helps Anne Arundel EMS Save Lives. A new way of doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation that health experts said can save more lives is changing the way firefighters and paramedics are trained in Anne Arundel County. Continuous CPR is basically a quicker form of the technique, with 100-120 more chest compressions per minute, fewer breaks and fewer breaths in between, health officials said. It’s a quick, intense and possibly life-saving drill being played out at the Anne Arundel County fire training facility.
Doctor, 50, Critically Injured While Jogging Near Office. A Baltimore County doctor who police said was struck when he jogged into the path of a turning vehicle is in critical condition Thursday, county police said. Police said Dr. Theodore Houk, 50, of Lutherville, was struck on North Charles Street near Chestnut Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. in Towson. A representative of Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where Houk is employed, said the doctor was jogging to his office near the campus when he was hit.
Police Investigate Officer Involved Shooting. Baltimore City police are still investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Thursday evening in the southeast part of the city near the Baltimore County line. Police said the shooting happened at a home in the 6700 block of Danville Avenue near Dundalk Avenue around 8:30 p.m.
