Woman Seriously Injured When Hit By Car. Anne Arundel County fire officials said a pedestrian was seriously injured when she was hit by a car early Thursday morning in Curtis Bay. The crash happened around 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Smallwood Road and Pittman Road. Fire officials said the victim was a 35-year-old woman. They did not have any details on the vehicle that hit her or how the incident happened.

Horse Deaths At Laurel Park Cause Concern. State officials are investigating an unusual rise in the number of horse deaths at the Laurel Park race track this year. Racing officials said between Jan. 9 and Feb. 15, 10 horses were injured and euthanized at Laurel Park  — the same number of cases in all of 2011 in Maryland.

Family Remembers MD Aviator Killed In Crash. The Navy said an officer from Ellicott City was one of three crew members killed in a naval aircraft crash in Washington state earlier this week. Officials have identified 26-year-old Lt. J.G. Valerie Delaney as one of the victims. Lt. Cmdr. Alan A. Patterson, 34, from Tullahoma, Tenn.; and Lt. J.G. William Brown McIlvaine III, 24, of El Paso, Texas, were also killed.

Ravens Release Safety Bernard Pollard. Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard is being released by the team, Ravens officials confirmed for 11 News on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Pollard, who has been with the Ravens for the past two seasons, sent out a tweet around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, saying, “Well Raven Nation it’s been fun. My time in Baltimore is done… Thank you!”
