Re-Enactment Of Jefferson’s Appointment As Minister To France

The Annapolis Continental Congress Society is proud to announce an extraordinary event to commemorative the moment in history when an officially independent United States began its foreign policy: The appointment of Thomas Jefferson as a Minister to France, from Annapolis, on May 7, 1784 in Congress Assembled at the Old Senate Chamber of the Maryland State House.

You are invited to  the Crown and Crab Room at the Maryland Inn on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 for a FREE EVENT that will include a brief re-enactment of Jefferson’s appointment by President of Congress, Thomas Mifflin, and a panel of speakers led by Dr. RJ Rockefeller, Professor of Early American History at Anne Arundel Community College and President Jean-Marc Gaultier of the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC. You are also invited to join the speakers and members of the Annapolis Continental Congress Society’s Board beforehand for dinner at Café Normandie for 4 courses:  Shallot Consomme, Sweet Potato Risotto with Grilled Sea Scallops, Beef Tenderloin with Green Mustard Sauce, Cheese Tray and a Chocolate Croustillant.  Each course will be paired with an appropriate wine selection.  The total cost to each person  is $75.00 per person.
