Compost Bin, Rain Barrel, & Toter Sale March 16 and 17

K&B-eye-on-annapolis-web-adAs part of his Clean and Green City initiative, Mayor Joshua J. Cohen announces the City’s fourth annual rain barrels, compost bins, and refuse/recycling toter sale.

For the second year in a row, the Department of Neighborhood and Environmental Programs’ Sustainable Annapolis Program will partner with K&B True Value to host the truck-load sale on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“This is a great way to help save the environment while saving some money,” Mayor Cohen said. “My family has a rain barrel and a compost bin, both purchased at this event over the past two years.”

In addition to the Earth MachineTM Backyard Compost Bin and the SYSTERN Rain Barrel, this year’s sale will also offer a waste and recycling toter. The toter is fully compliant with City Code requirements. For the first time, customers can also pre-order their containers at KBTrueValue.com/greener-options.

The sale is at no cost to the City and is not limited to Annapolis residents. Payment will be accepted in cash, check, or credit card (Visa, MC).

For more information on the sale, go to KBTrueValue.com/greener-options, or call K&B True Value at 410-268-3939. K&B True Value is located at 912 Forest Drive in Annapolis.

Pricing for the containers:

  • Earth MachineTM Backyard Compost Bin – $47
  • SYSTERN Rain Barrel – $58)
  • Waste and Recycling Toter – $54-$59

This is a significant savings from the regular retail prices of $100.00, $120.00, $75, and $70 respectively.
