It’s Kick Off Time! The Heart Health Foundation will host its signature fundraiser on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the Navy Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, MD.  Proceeds from this year’s benefit will support the Dare to C.A.R.E. program and its critical role in providing free vascular screening to those at risk.  Cardiovascular disease is the #1 health problem in this country today.  More than half of all Americans will die from complications of atherosclerosis, the root of cardiovascular disease.  Our goal is to raise $100,000 to help provide the funds to continue our free education and screenings to all at-risk individuals in our region.  Dare to C.A.R.E. is the largest non-profit, nationally recognized organization that offers free vascular screenings.

“I am so excited to have two special guests this year.  NFL Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboy quarterback and U.S. Naval Academy graduate Roger Staubach with Super Bowl MVP Washington Redskin Quarterback and current head coach of the Grambling Tigers, Doug Williams!  The Cowboys-Redskins rivalry is reborn in Annapolis”, stated Dr. John Martin, President of the Heart Health Foundation.

The Huddle Up for Healthy Hearts Kick-off will begin at 3:00pm with a flag football game on the field at the Navy Marine Corps Stadium.  Participants will be able to catch passes from the two star quarterbacks.  On hand will be Governor Martin O’Malley and distinguished members of the Maryland House of Delegates who will be acting as coaches and referees for this Cowboys-Redskins game.  Huddle Up for Healthy Hearts guests will have access to watch the game from the stands and cheer on their favorite team!

Following the game, there will be a VIP reception on the Flag Bridge of the stadium from 6:00pm – 7:00pm where guests and sponsors can meet and greet with your favorite quarterback.   The main event will start at 6:30 PM in the Lawrence “N” Room with Open Bar, ample Hors d ‘Oeuvres and Cocktail Buffet will be served. Guests will also enjoy bidding on exclusive items at the silent auction.  Highlights of the evening include a “Sports Talk “ style interview with Roger Staubach, Doug Williams, Dr. John Martin, and Peter Stephan, chairman and music by Dana B. All Star Band.

Sponsorships start at $10,000; a limited number of individual tickets are also available.  For more information on sponsorship and marketing opportunities, or to purchase tickets, please contact Elaine Gairy, Dare to C.A.R.E.,at 410-573-9483 or email [email protected]  For more information about the Heart Health Foundation and it’s Dare to C.A.R.E. program, visit hearthealthfoundation.org.
