Leopold To Be Sentenced In March.  Sentencing for suspended Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold has been set for March. Judge Dennis Sweeney, a circuit court judge, scheduled sentencing for March 14 in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. Sweeney found Leopold guilty on two counts of misconduct in office on Tuesday. One of those counts related to Leopold using his security detail to perform political activities while on the job. The other involved making a secretary and members of his detail empty his urine catheter bag for months in 2010.

Man, 22 Accused Of Strangling Great Aunt.  Police in Anne Arundel County have arrested the great nephew of a Glen Burnie woman who was found dead in her home Tuesday and charged him with first-degree murder. Police said Brandon Zachary Duncan, 22, admitted to police that he strangled Dianna Fitzwater, 62, in the home they shared in the 300 block of Gatewater Court.

Natalie Morales Visits Baltimore For Ravens Rally. It’s not just fans getting caught up in the Super Bowl frenzy — “The Today Show” is, too. “The Today Show’s” Natalie Morales is teaming up with 11 News’ Ava Marie for a Ravens rally on Friday at the Inner Harbor beginning with “11 News Today” during the 6 a.m. hour. Marie will teach Morales what it takes to be a Ravens fan, including learning Ray Lewis’ famous squirrel dance and the Baltimore Anthem song that everyone sings during games and rallies.

Flood Waters Begin To Recede In Laurel.  Laurel Mayor Craig Moe rescinded an emergency declaration Thursday evening as flood waters began to recede in the city. Floodgates of the T. Howard Duckett Dam had been opened upstream from Laurel due to heavy rain that came down in a storm Wednesday night. On Thursday, the city’s mayor declared a municipal civil emergency and ordered the evacuation of parts of Main Street and areas to the north of that near Route 1.
