Middle School Student Charged After Bringing Knife To School

folding-knifeOn February 5, 2013, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the School Resource Officer assigned to Arundel Middle School located at 1179 Hammond Lane in Odenton, Maryland, was made aware by school officials that a male student was observed in possession of a knife inside of the school.

The officer learned that the 12-year-old male student threatened a 12-year-old male student and an 11-year-old female student with the knife in separate incidents inside of the school. The suspect was located and detained and a three inch folding knife was located inside of his locker. The knife was immediately confiscated and the student was charged on a misdemeanor juvenile citation with one count of possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and two counts of threatening students under Education Article 26-101. The student was released to the custody of a parent.

The school district sent home a letter this afternoon.

  1. It was always a risk at my old school…..luckily i moved before this person brought the knife!
    I wish that to know who was the person who brought the knife. I also want to know if he had any sort suspicious background.
    I was a student there. And i am slso concerned about my old classmates. And how they reacted. I will just have to find out!
