Area residents are preparing for an evening of fun and entertainment at Homestead Gardens on March 19 that will benefit Anne Arndel County’s community symphony orchestra, the LSO. The public has enjoyed the LSO through the years, and now they have an opportunity to enjoy a fabulous evening that will include a “surprise performance” by the LSO itself, other music by the LSO String Quartet and the LSO Brass Quintet, heavy hors d’ouervres from area restaurants, wine sampling, wine and beer for purchase by the glass, live chef demonstrations, a 50-25-25 drawing, a silent auction, and all in a beautiful floral setting.

The Gala will take place from 6 PM to 9 PM on March 19. Tickets are $40 each or $75 for two. You may purchase tickets from any orchestra member, online at www.LSO-Music.org, or at the door. A reminder that the LSO is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

The Silent Auction will include a crab pot with a recipe book, tongs and pot holders, 4 rounds of golf with carts at Renditions and at Bay Hills, the purchase of the LSO String Quartet or the LSO Brass Quintet for a private evening of your choice (schedules permitting), and an autographed autobiography by Marni Nixon. Ms. Nixon is best known for dubbing her singing voice over Deborah Kerr in The King And I, over Natalie Wood in West Side Story, and over Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady.

The LSO is in its ninth year of bringing high quality and affordable classical music to Anne Arundel County. The orchestra is composed of professional and accomplished amateur and student musicians under the leadership of Music Director/Conductor Dr. Anna Binneweg.  Dr. Binneweg’s creative and appealing programming combined with her exceptional musicianship has helped the orchestra to attain higher levels of performance and has attracted new and talented musicians to the orchestra.  For more information about the orchestra please visit www.LSO-Music.org or call (410) 562-8920.
