Arnold Man Arrested For Impersonating Police

Zachary Butler
Zachary Butler, charged with impersonating a police officer.

On February 3, 2013, at approximately 2:13 a.m., an officer from the Northern District midnight shift was on patrol near Furnace Branch Road E. and Point Pleasant Road when he observed a black Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor pulling into the 7-Eleven parking lot.

The Ford had a red emergency light that was operating with a red rotation pattern on the front dash. These lights are commonly used by police officers to affect traffic stops on motorists. The Ford was attempting to pull over a yellow Nissan X-Terra. A quick check through the officer’s Mobile Data Computer revealed that the vehicle was a personally owned vehicle and not a police vehicle. The operator was stopped and detained. A red emergency light and a police scanner were then confiscated from the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer and driving while intoxicated.

Suspect: Zachary Allan Butler, 23, of 1057 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Arnold, Md
