Severn Man Charged In Attempted Murder Of Uncle

On January 12, 2013, at approximately 7:33 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to a family violence complaint that was in progress located in the 7900 block of Citadel Drive in Severn.  Multiple citizens called 911 to report a fight involving a male suspect actively choking his 51-year-old uncle with a rope for unknown reasons.

Numerous officers responded and located the subjects in the front yard of a residence. Responding officers had to remove the rope from the victim’s neck to allow him to breathe. The suspect was arrested and transported to Western District, where he was charged with numerous criminal offenses including Attempted Murder, First and Second Degree Assault and Use of a Deadly Weapon. The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is currently being held at the Anne Arundel County Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
