Man, Daughter Charged In Man’s Slaying. Police in Anne Arundel County have made three arrests in a weekend homicide in Glen Burnie, and two of the suspects are a father and daughter. Eric Banks, 48, is awaiting a court appearance. His daughter, Erica Banks, 27, is currently behind bars.

Woman Critically Injured In Annapolis Shooting. An Annapolis woman is in critical condition at Shock Trauma after being shot by her estranged husband early Monday morning, according to police.  Detectives were called to the 300 block of Harry S. Truman Parkway around 1 a.m. Monday, where they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds inside a business.

Death Penalty Opponents Rally In Annapolis. Death penalty opponents rallied in Annapolis Monday demanding legislators abolish it and use the savings to beef up law enforcement. Legislators in support of the death penalty often argue that prosecutors use it as leverage to get a guilty plea.

Defense Rests In Leopold Case. The defense in the misconduct trial of Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold rested its case early Monday afternoon, with the judge denying a defense motion for acquittal soon after that, according to 11 News I-Team reporter Barry Simms. Leopold did not take the witness stand on Monday. The defense called its first witness late Friday afternoon. The prosecution rested its case Thursday after three days of testimony from police officials who were part of Leopold’s executive detail.
