4 People Struck By Car In Glen Burnie.  Four people were injured in a pedestrian-involved accident on a dark section of a busy road in Glen Burnie. Anne Arundel County officials said four people were struck on Quarterfield Road near the ramp for eastbound Route 100 just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Anne Arundel Residents: Push Back School Start Times. The Anne Arundel County Board of Education heard arguments from parents Thursday night who are hoping the start time for schools will get pushed back. Anne Arundel County residents delivered a petition to the Board of Education asking members to push back the start time for schools. County public high schools currently start at 7:17 a.m. every day — the earliest in Maryland — with bus pick-up times starting as early as 5:50 a.m.

Delegate Dwyer Announces Committee Departure. A Maryland lawmaker who was charged last month with operating a boat under the influence of alcohol has announced he has been reassigned from the House Judiciary Committee to the House Ways and Means Committee. Delegate Don Dwyer, R-Anne Arundel County, made the announcement in a short statement on Thursday.

Flu Outbreak Hits Maryland Hard.  The flu outbreak is hitting Maryland and the rest of the country hard. Maryland is experiencing a flu season like we haven’t seen in years judging by the extraordinarily long wait times at local emergency rooms and urgent care centers. State health officials are scheduled to release new statistics on the latest numbers Friday.
