Merlin Trio To Perform At St. John’s College

Merlin Trio 1The Merlin Trio from the renowned Merlin Ensemble, often called the “Chamber Orchestra of Europe” is performing a free concert on Sunday, February 3, 2012, at 4 PM at the Great Hall of St. John’s College. The trio consists of Violin, Cello and Piano. Founded in 1991, the Trio presents chamber music at its highest level, and are guests of great music festivals and concert houses throughout the world,including Salzburg Festival. The Trio has recorded numerous artistic works, including Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale. The program entitled “Transfigured Night” will include works of Zemlinsky, Korber, Schonberg and Schubert. Also, the trio will present pieces by the pianist, Til Korber who is a well- known composer in Europe.

The program is being presented by World Artists Experiences, a non-profit which bridges international understanding through cultural and citizen diplomacy using the arts as a universal language. For further information, contact the web at www.worldartists.org or email [email protected]
