Two Officers Injured In Separate Crashes. Two police-involved crashes have been reported this week in Anne Arundel County. Police said Officer Richard Stang was driving in the Severna Park area Tuesday morning when he swerved to avoid an animal in the road and rolled his cruiser. Stang was taken to Shock Trauma with non-life-threatening injuries.

Aid At Deaf School Faces Child Sex Abuse Charges. Howard County police arrested a school aide at the Maryland School for the Deaf in Columbia on child sex abuse charges after they said he inappropriately touched three students over the span of three years. Clarence Taylor, 37, of Windsor Mill, was charged Thursday with three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, all of which are felony charges.

Same Sex Couples Get Marriage Licenses. Gov. Martin O’Malley certified this November’s election results Thursday by signing a legal proclamation that put in place two of the most high-profile measures passed on Election Day: Expanded gambling and same-sex marriage. Same-sex couples began lining up early Thursday at courthouses across Maryland to be the first to apply for post-dated marriage licenses. The couples will be able to do so now that O’Malley formally declared that Question 6 was passed by voters, although the licenses won’t go into effect until Jan. 1.

Teen Assaulted Near Parkville Middle School. A Baltimore County teen is recovering after police said a man assaulted her near a middle school on Thursday evening. Officers responded to the grounds of Parkville Middle School around 8:30 p.m. near the 8700 block of Avondale Road, where police said the young lady was assaulted.
