TB Discovered At UMBC.  The University of Maryland-Baltimore County announced Tuesday that someone on campus was diagnosed with tuberculosis. The school didn’t specify whether the patient is a student or a staff member, but they did say the person was isolated. University officials said they suspected that someone may have contracted TB that the Health Department ultimately confirmed.

Woman Charged In Death Of Father, 90.  Maryland State Police said a man was found dead in his Ridgely home on his 90th birthday, and his 58-year-old daughter has been charged with killing him. Police said Janice Cohee called 911 around 6 p.m. Monday and later told troopers that her father, who she lived with, had been killed by two robbers looking for money while she hid in another room.

Acts Of Kindness Show Support For Sandy Hook Victims. All of us have been touched by the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, and some people are showing their support with simple and touching acts of kindness. Six-year-old Emilie Parker’s tiny heart was full of love and kindness. Her father, Robert Parker, made an emotional plea for that spirit to be the legacy of this tragedy.

Increase In Maryland Holiday Travel Predicted.  A new survey projects that 1.9 million Maryland residents are expected to travel 50 miles or more over the holidays. If that number holds, AAA Mid-Atlantic said it would be the largest number of holiday travelers since the auto club began forecasting statewide holiday travel in 2001.
