Fatal Crash Reported On I-195, EB Lanes Closed. A fatal crash on I-195 is reportedly blocking all lanes of the road going eastbound, which may be affecting people trying to make their way to Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport. The crash was reported around 7 a.m. on I-195 near Interstate 95. It’s blocking all lanes of the highway going east between I-95 and Route 1.

Meningitis Possibly To Blame In Student’s Death. A junior at Glen Burnie High School in Anne Arundel County died Tuesday, according to school officials. There is no medical confirmation of what caused the girl’s death, but the school system said her symptoms were consistent with bacterial meningitis. The school said it sent letters home with students about the girl’s death, as well as general information about the infection.  Officials said that particular form of the disease is not highly contagious.

Odenton House Fire Kills Mother; Boy Escapes. A woman was killed when a fire ripped through a home in Anne Arundel County on Wednesday. Firefighters were called to the blaze in the 1300 block of Tenbrook Road in Odenton at about 5:30 p.m., where crews were met with flames coming from one unit of a duplex. Firefighters said a woman was found unconscious inside the home. They said a 15-year-old boy jumped from a second-floor window before fire crews arrived, but he was not hurt.

1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Annapolis Shooting.  One person is dead and another is seriously wounded after a double shooting in Annapolis. Police said the shooting happened at the Robinwood public housing complex in the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. Officers said one person was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Detectives said the other victim died at the scene.
