Glen Burnie Man Charged With Rape, Assault, And False Imprisonment

Shane MillerOn December 3, 2012, at approximately 11:48 a.m., members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the Food Lion located in the 100 block of Crain Highway N. in Glen Burnie for a report of an unknown disturbance.

Upon their arrival, officers spoke with the adult female victim, who reported that she had been stabbed and sexually assaulted. The suspect was located on scene and identified as Shane Lee Miller. Investigation revealed that the victim and Mr. Miller are known to each other through the victim’s employment and this incident was not a random act of violence. The incident occurred at the suspect’s address, 407 Secluded Post Circle, Apartment D, Glen Burnie, Maryland, where he held the victim against her will, stabbed her and sexually assaulted her. Afterwards, the suspect forced the victim into her vehicle and he drove her to the Food Lion. At that time, she was able to quietly alert the store’s staff, without the suspect’s knowledge, to contact the police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated and released. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division were notified and are handling the investigation. A search warrant was served at the suspect’s address. The suspect was arrested and is currently in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on a no bail status.

Suspect: Shane Lee Miller, 37, of 407 Secluded Post Circle, Apartment D, Glen Burnie, Md. The suspect was charged with First Degree Rape, First Degree Sex Offense, Robbery, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and False Imprisonment.
