Churchton Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

Members of the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit have arrested an Anne Arundel County man in connection with the distribution and possession of child pornography.

Drew Ellis Lindsley, 32, of the 1000 block of South Creek View Court in Churchton, was arrested Thursday on two counts of distributing and two counts of possessing child pornography. If convicted, Lindsley faces up to thirty years in prison.

A trooper assigned to the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began the investigation last summer after locating a computer sharing what was believed to be child pornography on a file sharing network. The investigator was able to trace the computer activity back to Lindsley’s Churchton residence.

Maryland State Police investigators conducted a search of Lindsley’s residence and located digital evidence confirming Lindsley had been distributing and was in possession of child pornography. An arrest warrant was obtained and served on Lindsley yesterday. He was later released on a $75,000 bond awaiting a future court date.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the state. Its primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation. The Task Force works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources to combat these crimes. Additionally, the Task Force provides community awareness campaigns helping to prevent the spread of these crimes through education.
