Bay Bridge To Get Safety Enhancements. A study on safety along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge has led the Maryland Transportation Authority to begin implementing enhancements to the current lane markings on the westbound span, including adding a painted buffer and continuous rumble strips. MdTA Executive Secretary Harold Bartlett said the upgrades will help drivers stay alert and in their lanes during two-way operations.

Police: Severn Teen Uses Toy Gun To Try To Rob BoyAnne Arundel County police said an 18-year-old Severn man was arrested and charged in connection with an attempted robbing of a 12-year-old boy. Officers were called to the 8200 block of Clearwater Court in Severn at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a robbery. Police spoke with a 12-year-old boy, along with his father, who said the boy was walking in the area of Indian Drive and Clearwater Court around 3:15 p.m. when he was approached by a man who displayed what appeared to be a handgun.

Man Arrested For Impersonating Officer. Police said a 48-year-old Baltimore man was arrested for impersonating a police officer. Anne Arundel County police officers were called to Cab Connection located in the 600 block of Hammonds Ferry Road North in Linthicum at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities said officers met with a representative of Cab Connection who said one of their drivers was followed by a man in a Pontiac G6 claiming to be a police officer.

Teen Charged With Setting Fire To High School. A 15-year-old boy has been charged as a juvenile with setting a trash can on fire in a bathroom at Glen Burnie High School. Fire officials were called to the school along the 7500 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after one of the school’s fire alarms went off.
