AACC Calendar Changed Due To Hurricane Sandy

Even though Hurricane Sandy was just a tropical storm when it entered Anne Arundel County, it stayed long enough to impact the academic calendar for the fall term at Anne Arundel Community College.

The three-day unscheduled closure of the college has forced administrators to push back the end of the fall term and the timetable for final exams. The new date for the end of the fall semester is Wednesday, Dec. 19. Classes for 13-week and 15-week courses will end on Wednesday, Dec. 12. The second eight-week session which began Oct. 22 will end on Dec. 19, with the final exam on the last day of class.

For 13-week and 15-week courses, the final exam week will be Thursday, Dec. 13 through Wednesday, Dec. 19. The revised exam schedule is posted on www.aacc.edu/collegecalendar. Final exams are required by the college manual and must be given in accordance with the posted exam schedule.

Note that class and exam schedules for AACC’s WeekendYou, the weekend college program, will not change.

The three-day closing also extended the time students who plan to graduate in December 2012 have to submit their application for graduation to the registrar’s office. The new deadline is Nov. 8.

The college schedule is always subject to change due to unforeseen weather closures or other unexpected events. Students who have questions or concerns should contact their instructors and/or academic advisers immediately.
