Self Defense For The Coming Zombie Apocalypse

Zommbie

ZommbieJing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi is offering a workshop that will help you prepare for most disaster/emergency situations and will teach you practical self-defense techniques that are effective against any attacker, not just zombies. Presented Saturday, October 6 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Cost is $20 for Jing Ying Students and $25 for non-students with all funds going to the Jing Ying scholarship fund.

FEMA has declared October to be “National Zombie Awareness Month” and the CDC has warned the public to prepare for the “Zombie Apocalypse” and has even set up a special web site with guidebooks and other resources.

Join Jing Ying Institute for a fun workshop that will prepare you to protect yourself, your family and friends against zombies. Instead of trying to settle the age-old argument about whether slow zombies or fast zombies are the scariest, we will give you the tools you need to defend against both.

Use the controlled movement, mental concentration and redirection skills of tai chi with slow zombies. Use the power, agility, fluidity and footwork of northern shaolin kung fu against fast zombies.

This workshop will cover what you need to do to prepare for the coming apocalypse, how to avoid zombie encounters, and the best methods for taking out zombies while reducing your chances of becoming one yourself.

Physical activity will be involved so wear loose, comfortable clothing suitable for active movement such as athletic pants and a t-shirt. Bring a water bottle. (Bottled water and Gatorade are available for purchase at the workshop).

The workshop will be presented by Billy Greer, owner of the Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi, a professor of martial arts at Anne Arundel Community College and a biologist who formerly ran a laboratory for many years. He will combine the latest information from the CDC, his laboratory experience, training as a biologist and his self-defense expertise to help you prepare for any contingency.

This workshop is for ages 13 and older as it will be a serious presentation. For more information and on-line registration, visit our web site at www.JingYing.org or call 410-431-5200.
