Scores of community families turned out for a Fall Festival with a purpose Saturday at Roundz Gourmet Market in Gambrills. Three hours of carnival games, pumpkin carving and face painting brought $225 in donations for the Crofton Food Pantry.
“This event was just as we envisioned,” said Chef Zachary Pope, a Crofton resident and owner of Roundz Gourmet Market. “We wanted a fun celebration for the community and we wanted to do something to help local families in need. We have partnered with Crofton Food Pantry in previous events and are proud to support their work.”
The Roundz Fall Festival featured carnival-style games and a pumpkin carving/decorating contest. Donations were accepted with all monies collected going directly to the Crofton Food Pantry.
The Crofton Food Pantry, housed at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, is run by volunteers from seven area churches. For more information, including how you can help, see their website at http://www.seaseton.org/food-pantry.html
