40 Animals Seized From Pasadena Home.  Animal Control officials in Anne Arundel County said they removed 40 live animals and a few that were dead from a Pasadena home that police have been investigating since August. Animal Control officers and county police served a warrant at the home in the 8000 block of Lockwood Road on Thursday and said they removed two dogs, one cat, two turtles, seven birds, four chickens, one goat, one pig, one chinchilla, three snakes, 12 aquatic animals, three geese, one duck, one kinkajou (a rainforest mammal) and one tarantula.

Armed Robber Strikes At Rite Aid In AnnapolisAnne Arundel County police said they are looking for an armed robber who struck in Annapolis. Officers were called to a Rite Aid Pharmacy at 2027 West Street at 9:24 a.m. Saturday. Police said the man came into the store and approached the service counter after customers left the counter area. He then gave the clerk money and asked for change. Police said when the clerk opened the register the robber took a black handgun out of his waistband, pointed it at the clerk and demanded all the money.

Anne Arundel County Police Catch Arnold Burglar In Act. Police said they caught a burglar shortly after a witness watched him strike at a home in Arnold. Officers were called to the 800 block of Macsherry Drive in Arnold in the Wexford community for a report of a home burglary in progress at 11:03 a.m. Monday. Police said they watched a possible burglar carrying a backpack and walking from the rear of two houses. A witness identified the man as the one involved in the burglary.

Brooklyn Park DUI Checkpoint Yields 11 Arrests.  Anne Arundel County police said they made 11 arrests during a DUI enforcement period.  Authorities said the checkpoint took place Friday along Ritchie Highway and 11th Avenue in Brooklyn Park. The enforcement initiative was a joint effort with the assistance of the Maryland State Police consisting of two separate checkpoints. One checkpoint was on northbound Ritchie Highway while the other was southbound on Ritchie Highway. In addition, there were supporting DUI prevention saturation patrols taking place in the area.
