Annapolis Mayor Convenes Meeting To Address Safety In Eastport

Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen, Ward Six Alderman Kenneth A. Kirby and Ward Eight Alderman Ross H. Arnett are jointly hosting a public meeting to have an open dialog about safety concerns in Eastport.

“Eastport has made huge strides in the past few years,” Mayor Cohen said. “When you think back just a few years ago to the ‘Stop the Gunfire’days, Eastport is a much different place now.  Not only is crime down substantially, but residents have reached across cultural and demographic divides to build positive bridges of communication and partnership.  My goal for this meeting is to come together in this same spirit to address whatever safety concerns people may have, and ensure that families continue to be safe – and feel safe – in Eastport.”

The public meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 9. Residents are urged to attend this meeting to exchange ideas and discuss safety concerns with the mayor, alderpersons, Police Chief Michael Pristoop and others. The meeting will be held at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center (EastportCommunity Center), 1014 President Street, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
