On September 26, 2012, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department accompanied by personnel from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to the 1200 block of Hawthorne Street in Shady Side for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers observed the 61-year-old male victim in the driveway of his residence suffering from serious injuries to his lower body as a result of being pinned between two automobiles. Through the investigation, it was learned that the victim’s 39-year-old estranged wife responded to his residence and a verbal argument ensued. During the course of the argument, the parties ended up in the driveway of the victim’s residence. At some juncture, the argument escalated, resulting in the suspect entering her 2004 Chevrolet pick up truck and intentionally driving towards the victim, who was walking in the direction of the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect struck the victim with her vehicle, ultimately pinning him between her vehicle and another parked vehicle.

The victim was subsequently transported via helicopter to Prince George’s County Shock Trauma for treatment of his injuries. The suspect was arrested at the scene and transported to the Southern District Station. Upon consultation with the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office, the suspect was charged with the Attempted Second Degree Murder and First Degree Assault.

Suspect: Patina Lynn Morehead, 39, of the 4900 block of Filbert Street, Shady Side, Md
