Visual Arts Faculty Show Their Art

Allen Linder created a solid sculpture, “Man Pushing Through,” for Anne Arundel Community College’s first art exhibit of the fall term, “AACC Visual Arts Adjunct Faculty Show.” Sculptures and photographs of sculptures are featured. The exhibit is open to the public 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Sept. 4-28, in the Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery on the Arnold campus.

View sculpture by David Friedheim, Steve Jones and Allen Linder, as well as photography of sculpture by Joe Yablonsky, at the first Anne Arundel Community College art exhibit of the fall term, “AACC Visual Arts Adjunct Faculty Show.”

The variety of materials, scale and presentation of the pieces will activate and push the gallery space to the nth degree. Friedheim’s monumentally goofy 14-foot open-frame man is guaranteed to contrast with Linder’s refined and solid “Man Pushing Through” and play off of Jones’ strangely compelling mixed media piece, “Man Chicken with Father.” Yablonsky’s elegantly austere black-and-white photographs of archetypal sculpture in situ will command the gallery’s intimate back space.

All of the artists are adjunct Visual Arts faculty at AACC. This free exhibit is shown Sept. 4-28 in the Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery. Join the artists for a gallery talk at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and for a reception from 6-8 p.m. that same day.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays. For more information contact Visual Arts Professor Chris Mona, Cade Gallery director, at[email protected] or 410-777-7028, or visit www.aacc.edu/cadegallery/.
