Tomorrow Is Voter Registration Day

In 2008, 6 million Americans didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to register. That same year, the registration rate for those with disabilities was 3.3% lower than those without. Currently, 30% of eligible Americans are not registered to vote. In an effort to register eligible voters, particularly those with disabilities, The Arc Central Chesapeake Region has joined with organizations around the country for National Voter Registration Day to offer a day long voter registration day.

The Voter Registration Day will take place on September 25th from 8:30am-4:30pm at The Arc Central Chesapeake Region located at 931 Spa Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. Those who need to register to vote are encouraged to drop by to do so.

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region’s Mission is to promote respect, create opportunities and advocate for equal rights for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc creates a path to opportunity for everyone to become a valued contributing member of their community by providing a variety of services and supports throughout the lifespan.
