Reported Dispute Leads To Drug Arrest In Odenton

| September 23, 2012, 09:14 AM | 0 Comments

On Friday evening, September 21, 2012, at approximately 9:50 p.m., members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District responded to a report of an unknown disturbance at the Royal Inn located at 1630 Annapolis Road, Odenton, Maryland.  Upon arrival, uniformed officers learned that an assault occurred and witnesses on the scene were pointing to a vehicle that was pulling off the lot. A traffic stop was conducted on a gold Chevy Trailblazer before it could leave the premises.  Members of the Western District Tactical Patrol Unit arrived as the stop was made.  A Tactical Patrol Unit member recognized the passenger in the front seat of the vehicle from previous encounters.  He was identified as Thomas Brooks Jr.  Mr. Brooks was arrested when it was determined he had an open arrest warrant for violation of probation.  Additionally, the driver and owner of the Trailblazer, Ms. Lucretia Bosworth, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute more than 13 grams of crack cocaine.

Investigation revealed the unknown disturbance call originated from a dispute and fight over illegal drugs.  One of the witnesses who identified the Trailblazer as containing suspects in the dispute was arrested at the scene as she also had an open arrest warrant.  She was identified as Ms. Ashley Michelle Beatty.

Mr. Brooks was transported to Western District Station where the warrant was served.  He was in possession of over $3,200.00 in cash.  The money was seized for forfeiture as suspected proceeds of drug crimes.  Ms. Bosworth was transported to Western District where she was charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances. Her vehicle, a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, was seized for forfeiture as it was used as a conveyance mechanism for the suspected controlled dangerous substances.
