After two disappointing (and lopsided) showings against Notre Dame and Penn State, Navy finally found themselves on the other side of the win-loss column with a substantial win against visiting Virginia Military Institute.
Navy demonstrated a weak offense the first half. While they had no problem finding the red zone, they ever seemed to be able to find the goal line until the last few minutes of the half and added a field goal for insurance ending the half on top of VMI, 13-3.
The second half started out with more offensive issues, but the team fought back and ended up scoring 4 more touchdowns before the game ended.
