Electric Vehicle Days Are Here

| September 14, 2012, 01:58 PM | 0 Comments

Annapolis Green is bringing information about the environmental and energy benefits of electric vehicles to the public in the Annapolis area through Electric Vehicle Days, Sept. 15-23. How do EVs drive? How much do they cost? How far can you go on a charge? All these questions will be answered in person by EV owners and dealers, by film, and on the radio.

Electric Vehicle Days in Annapolis events include:

  • Saturday, Sept. 15 – Electric Vehicle Showcase — noon – 5 p.m., City Dock.  Meet with EV owners (of cars, bicycles, and electric shuttles) and see their vehicles on display, in partnership with the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, D.C. Free.
  • Monday, Sept. 17 – Movie Night — 7 p.m., Annapolis Maritime Museum, 723 Second Street, Annapolis.  Screening of “What is the Electric Car,” a documentary film (75 min.) and a Q&A session about electric vehicles. Admission: $5
  • Wednesday, Sept. 19 – Green Drinks — 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference & Visitors Bureau/Gott’s Court Garage, Annapolis.  Theme: Alternative Transportation, Electric Vehicles and How Annapolis’ Garages are Going Green Hosted by Towne Park and the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference & Visitors Bureau. This edition of the monthly Green Drinks networking event will showcase the Greening of Annapolis’ city garages by the Towne Park company, to include EV charging stations. Free. Cash bar. No RSVP.
  • Sunday, Sept. 23 – EV Showcase as part of National Plug-In Day — noon – 5 p.m., City Dock. An electric vehicle showcase is Annapolis’ celebration of National Plug-In Day. This is the first time our capital city will be part of this national celebration! Plug In America, the Sierra Club, and the Electric Auto Association are teaming up across the country to organize this effort with many types of events. In Annapolis, see the vehicles, talk to the owners, and get to know this technology. Free.
