CASA

CASAAnne Arundel County CASA, Inc. announces their annual fundraising gala “CASAblanca: An Eveningof Masquerade,” which will be held on November 10, 2012 at the Loews Annapolis Hotel at 7pm.

The annual black-tie gala is the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year. The event is expected to bring together more than 250 of the most prominent, civic-minded members of the community, and raise an estimated $75,000 to support the most vulnerable of our community.

Merritt Properties, LLC., The Friends Foundation, and longtime CASA volunteer Kathleen O. Potter will all be honored at the event for their continuous commitment to the foster children of Anne Arundel County.

Guests will enjoy an elegant evening of dining and dancing, and the live and silent auctions will boast some of the most exciting items to date, including autographed framed photographs of Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, “Beat It” sheet music autographed by Michael Jackson, an autographed boxing glove from Muhammad Ali, and movie posters signed by the cast of Harry Potter and The Godfather. Music will be provided by the Doug Segree Band. Tickets are $150 per person.

CASA serves children who have been abused or neglected and are under the protection of the foster care system. A Circuit CourtJudge appoints a CASA to provide factual, objective information to assist him in making decisions that are in the child’s best interest. CASAs keep children from “falling through the cracks”, and work diligently to ensure that each child will have the opportunity to live in a safe, stable, permanent home. CASA makes it possible for many of these children to have a chance at a brighter future.

In light of the current economy, more children are in need every year. The CASAblanca signature event will continue to be vital to Anne Arundel County CASA’s fundraising efforts
