Annapolis Yacht Club Named One Of Top 5 In US

Club managers and club presidents have voted and Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC) has been ranked #5 in the 2012 Top Yacht Clubs list released by the Club Leaders Forum. This is the first time AYC has been listed in the Top 5 and further solidifies AYC as one of the best yacht clubs in the country. The award also identifies AYC as a 5-star Platinum Club of America.

Every three years, the Club Leaders Forum conducts a survey with the General Managers of every club belonging to the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA). The survey results are used to compile a list of the 235 most highly regarded private clubs (country clubs, residential communities, golf clubs, dining clubs, athletic clubs, and yacht clubs) in the United States.

“The Annapolis Yacht Club is truly proud to be recognized by the Club Leaders Forum as one of the top 5 premier Yacht Clubs in the country,” said General Manager Brian Asch. “Annapolis Yacht Club’s excellence in services, quality of membership, heritage, and enlightened leadership from the management team and Board truly merits our induction into the 2012 Platinum Club of America.”

The Top 5 Yacht Clubs according to the survey, in order, are St. Francis Yacht Club, New York Yacht Club, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, San Diego Yacht Club, and Annapolis Yacht Club.

To determine which clubs receive this honor, the Club Leaders Forum sent out over 4,000 surveys and 1,400 clubs received at least one nomination of excellence. Some of the characteristics that are used to rank the Top Clubs in the U.S. are the club’s history of excellence, quality of membership, condition of the facilities, caliber of professional staff, ability to adapt with the times, member devotion, spirit of generosity in the community, and prudent fiscal management.
