UPDATE: The Anne Arundel County police have reported that both passengers in the vehicle have died as a result of their injuries. Carrie Lynn Desmond, 36, of Davidsonville and a 14 year-old boy were killed when the car Desmond was driving was unable to negotiate a turn. Desmond passed away early this morning and the teenager died early this afternoon.
After a single vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree last night, a man and a woman, believed to be in their 20s, are fighting for their lives in Baltimore’s Shock-Trauma.
According to Anne Arundel County Division Chief Michael Cox, it took crews more than 15 minutes to free the two occupants of the 10:00pm crash. The accident occurred on Patuxent River Road near the intersection of Central Avenue (MD 214).
Once free, the two were flown in separate helicopters to receive treatment.
This particular stretch of the road is dangerous and was the site of a serious crash in April which injured 5. South River Source provided extensive coverage of that accident.
