Westbound Span Of Bay Bridge Closed Until Further Notice.  The Maryland Transportation Authority said it has closed the westbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge for inspections Tuesday morning, so drivers should expect delays. The eastbound span is currently running on two-way operations, meaning one lane is open in each direction. 11 News cameras showed backups on Route 50 by 6 a.m.

Perry Hall Students, Return; Suspect Charged. Students at Perry Hall High School headed back to the classroom Tuesday, 24 hours after a shooting in the school’s cafeteria injured a 17-year-old boy. The victim remained in critical condition, while the suspected shooter, identified by police as 15-year-old Robert Gladden, was taken into custody.  He was charged early Tuesday morning as an adult with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

Woman, 81, Dies In Pasadena Crash.  An 81-year-old woman died after the car she was riding in crashed into a tree in Anne Arundel County over the weekend. The crash happened just after 1 p.m. Sunday in the 7400 block of Smallwood Road near Green Acres Road in Pasadena. The passenger, identified as 81-year-old Catherine Guthrie, had to be extricated from the vehicle and later died at Shock Trauma. The car’s driver, 49-year-old Gloria Anne Guthrie, was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Attorney Weighs In On Dwyer’s Legal Implications In Boating Accident. Anne Arundel County state Delegate Republican Don Dwyer potentially faces serious legal charges. Experts said his political future is in doubt. Political and legal experts believe Dwyer’s attempt to get out in front of his drunken boat collision does him more harm than good. “It’s inappropriate for him… it’s dead wrong — I understand what’s he’s doing. He’s seeking repentance. There is a time. There is a place. Children were hurt. There is no excuse,” attorney Bruce Robinson said.
