Petition Seeks To Out Chick-Fil-A From UMD Campus. Some students at the University of Maryland want Chick-fil-A to close its campus location. The students have started a petition to get the campus Chick-fil-A shut down in response to comments about same-sex marriage by a company executive. The online petition calls on the university to replace the Chick-fil-A in the Stamp Student Union building with a more accepting and maybe even healthier dining option.

City Tax Collection Scam Includes Assault, Robbery.  Baltimore police have released a composite sketch of a man who they said has forced himself into the homes of senior citizens, assaulted and robbed them and then fled with their money. The assault and robbery is part of a fraudulent tax collection scheme, police said. Victim’s said a woman portraying herself as a representative from Baltimore City Tax Collections called to advise the victims that their property taxes have not been paid or are overdue.

Divers Recover Male Body From Baltimore Inner Harbor.  Baltimore police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Inner Harbor. Divers from the Baltimore City Fire Department found the body of a man between the ages of 15 and 20 years old at about 3:15 a.m. Sunday. The location of the body corresponded with 301 Light Street. City police said they have taken the body to the medical examiner’s office and are awaiting results of an autopsy.

High School Basketball Star Charged In Assault. One of the top basketball recruits in the country faces charges after police said he assaulted the mother of his child. Baltimore City police told 11 News that officers arrested former Patterson High School basketball guard Aquille Carr on Friday on two misdemeanor charges. The Baltimore Sun cited court records showing the 18-year-old guard threw his ex-girlfriend to the ground and kicked and punched her.
