Police: West River Shooter Turns Himself In.  Police said a man wanted in connection with a shooting that left another man injured in West River has turned himself in. Authorities said 22-year-old Danny Gay Jr. turned himself in to the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office at the Circuit Courthouse in Annapolis at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police: Man Considered ‘Person Of Interest’ In Father’s Death. Officials are awaiting the extradition of a man, considered a person of interest, who fled to North Carolina after the fatal shooting of his father, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore ruled Darius Keenan Sr.’s death as a homicide. Keenan Sr. died as a result of a gunshot wound to the upper torso. His body was discovered by a family member who called police Sunday.

MD General Assembly Approves Gambling Bill.  The Maryland General Assembly early Wednesday morning passed a measure to allow a new casino in Prince George’s County as well as table games such as poker and roulette at gambling halls. After the House of Delegates passed the bill 71-58 late Tuesday night, the Senate concurred early Wednesday and passed the measure by a vote of 32-14. The vote sends the measure to Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley, who has scheduled a bill signing for Wednesday.

Legislature Takes No Action On Pit Bull Law, Dogs Remain Classified ‘Dangerous’. A measure that Maryland lawmakers hoped would address liability concerns relating to a court ruling on dog bites by pit bulls has died in the recent special session on gambling. The House and Senate could not reconcile differences between the two chambers by early Wednesday morning. Lawmakers wanted to change the law to address liability concerns over a breed-specific court ruling by Maryland’s highest court, which determined pit bulls to be “inherently dangerous.” The ruling means that in an attack involving a pit bull, plaintiffs in civil lawsuits don’t have to prove the animal’s prior violent behavior for the owner to be held liable for damages
