3 Injured In Glen Burnie Boating Accident.  The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said three people were injured in a Glen Burnie boating accident. County fire officials said they were called to the 1700 block of Marley Avenue in Marley Creek just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Fire officials said three people were thrown into the water after their boat struck a buoy marker.

Man Accused Of Stabbing Mother Taken Into Custody. Police have taken a Millersville man, who is accused of stabbing his mother, into custody. Officers from Anne Arundel County’s Northern District took 21-year-old James Arthur Zito into custody. Police said Zito was found at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in the area of the Glen Burnie Mall in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie after police received a call.

BGE Report: Average Wait For Power 38 Hours During Derecho.  Baltimore Gas and Electric claims it did the best it could during the derecho storm at the end of June but that it had a hard time gathering crews directly after the storm hit, according to a 58-page report the utility submitted to state regulators.  Almost 800,000 BGE customers lost power, some for a week, in the days after the storm. The BGE report submitted to the Maryland Public Service Commission highlights the highs and lows in the recovery efforts, from beginning to end.

Maryland’s Phelps Becomes Most Decorated Olympian. Michael Phelps swam into history with his 19th Olympic medal, and this one was a more appropriate color. With a lot of help from his friends, Phelps took down the last major record that wasn’t his alone, swimming the anchor leg for the United States in a gold medal-winning performance of the 4×200-meter freestyle relay Tuesday night. About an hour earlier, Phelps took one of the most frustrating defeats of his brilliant career, making a shocking blunder at the finish and settling for silver in his signature event, the 200m butterfly
