Patrons Flee Bowtie Cinemas In Annapolis After Disturbance

On August 1, 2012, at approximately 3:47 p.m., officers from the Southern District  responded to the Bow Tie Cinemas at the Annapolis Harbour Center located in the 2400 block of  Solomons Island Road in Annapolis for a report of disorderly conduct.

Police Communications provided a description of the male suspect and indicated that he  left the theater and was running in the direction of Route 2 northbound. A male matching the  description of the suspect was stopped by officers within minutes in the area of Old Solomons
Island Road and Forest Drive and taken into custody. Further investigation consisting of numerous witness interviews revealed that the suspect entered the theater while a movie was playing, sat down in the front row and began yelling expletives toward the screen and the patrons.

The suspect left the theater twice and upon returning a final time began pointing at people in the audience simulating that he had a gun while continuing to curse at patrons. At that time, numerous people fled the theater and the police were contacted. The suspect also fled and was
immediately apprehended.

The suspect, Kyle Nolan Tanner, 25, with no fixed address,  was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Reckless Endangerment and Second Degree Assault. The suspect is currently being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis on a no bail status with a bail review scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is continuing to consult with the State’s Attorney’s Office to determine the appropriateness of the charges; however, no additional charges are anticipated at this time.
