Despite the pending storm, a huge crowd was on hand last Friday evening as Eddie McGowan and Ray Murphy, producers of the Annapolis Irish Festival and members of the popular Annapolis band, The Rovers, delivered the good news to local non-profits.

On hand were Molly Mullins, Director of Communications and Development for the Chesapeake Bay Trust, Pam Cole Finlay, Executive Director of the Wellness House, Michael McHale, President and CEO of Hospice of the Chesapeake.

The Hospice of the Chesapeake received $10,000 with the Wellness House and Chesapeake Bay Trust each receiving $5,000.  Ten other non-profits also received smaller $1,000 donations.

This was the second year for the Annapolis Irish Festival which doubled the crowd and doubled the donation. Festival producer Ray Murphy egged on the crowd promising a bigger and better festival in 2013 with a goal of giving $60,000 to local charities!
