Dominion Root Beer Spotted At London Olympics

| August 22, 2012, 05:21 PM | 0 Comments

On August 8, 2012, U.S. Olympic medalists, Kim Rhode and Corey Codgell tweeted pictures of celebratory root beer floats in London made with Dominion Root Beer.

Corey tweeted a photo of Dominion Root Beer with the caption, “Root beer floats in London w/ @KimRhode Question of the day: Which is better more ice cream or root beer in a float?”  Kim echoed the tweet with one of her own,” Having a root beer float with teammate @CoreyCodgell in London… Who would have thought!!!”

Kim Rhode won the gold medal for skeet shooting this year, tying an Olympic record
by hitting 99 of 100 targets, as well as being the first woman to win three gold medals for shooting.  Corey Cogdell won Olympic bronze for trapshooting in 2008, the first woman to ever win an Olympic medal in her sport. In London 2012, she placed 11th in her qualifying round.

Dominion Root Beer has been brewed for over 20 years using an original American recipe found at the Library of Congress. Made with pure honey, pure cane sugar, and yucca root this beverage contains no high fructose corn syrup.

Fordham and Dominion Brewing had another Olympic connection this year.  In 2012, Fordham UK sponsored the Great Britain women’s beach volleyball team, Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney. Zara stated, “We’re extremely grateful for Fordham’s support, which has made it possible for us to focus on playing the best volleyball we can.”

Fordham and Old Dominion have been brewing high quality beverages in Dover, Delaware since 2003.  They provide tours of the brewery (located at 1284 McD Dr., Dover, DE) and provide samples of their products, such as Scotch Ale, Oak Barrel Stout, Baltic Porter and Copperhead Ale every Wednesday at 5:00 and 6:00pm, Friday at 4:30 and 6:00pm and Saturday at 12:30 and 2:00 pm.  For more information, visit, or contact Lauren Bigelow at 302.678.4810 Ext. 201.
