Major Boating Accident In Pasadena

UPDATE 01:12am, August 23, 2012: We have been able to confirm that Maryland State Delegate, Don Dwyer was indeed involved in this accident and is in serious (non-life threatening) condition.

UPDATE 10:05pm: CBS News out of Washington is reporting that Maryland State Delegate Don Dwyer was one of the victims and owned one of the boats involved in this accident.

UPDATE 7:53pm: All victims have been brought to shore. Four adults and 3 children are being transported by ground to area hospitals including two children to Johns Hopkins.

Several boats collided in Sillery Bay off the Lake Shore section of Pasadena early this evening just after 7:00pm. Initial reports show that at least seven patients were being transported to shore by a passing boat and more will still in the water. Among the injured are several children.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department is on scene with water rescue boats and has called for mutual aid from Baltimore City. The departments mass casualty ambulance has been deployed as has a helicopter from the Maryland State Police.

Courtesy NBC 4 : Anne Arundel Fire Department officials and the US Coast Guard are on the scene of a boat collision near Pasadena, MD. Five to eight people, including children, will be transported to the hospital.
