UPDATE 11:17am 08/04/2012:  From Fire Department spokesman Tony Spencer, the call came in at 9:04am and brought a total of 51 personnel to the scene from Annapolis, Anne Arundel and the United States Naval Academy Fire Departments.  The fire was extinguished in 25 minutes and preliminary damage estimates are approximately $50,000.

One firefighter was injured and transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.

A fire broke out this morning just before 9:00am at 82 Conduit Street in Annapolis’ Historic District.  When firefighters from the City arrived on the scene there was smoke showing from the rear of the residence. Due to the threat of fire spread and the heat, a second alarm was immediately called bringing in crews from Anne Arundel County and the United States Naval Academy.

According to Annapolis Fire Department spokesperson Tony Spencer, one of the homeowners suffered first and second degree burns to her hand and was transported for treatment. There were no other reported injuries. Spencer said that the fire appears to have started in the rear of the residence, however it is still under investigation.

The 3-story home was built in 1928 and sits just steps away from Spa Creek.
