Gunman Kills 12 In Colorado Movie Theater. A heavily armed gunman tossed tear gas into the darkness of an Aurora, Colorado movie theater Friday and then sprayed the audience with gunfire during an early morning screening of the new Batman movie, killing 12 and wounding 38 others, authorities said. One of the injured was just 3 months old, according to hospital workers.

Anne Arundel Police Capture SUV Driver  Who Fled Collision.  A man who police said fled Baltimore at a high rate of speed and collided with a car in Anne Arundel County faces numerous charges Thursday. The ordeal began shortly before 6 p.m., when Baltimore police sought to stop Darryl Watson Jr., 26, on a seat belt violation in the 1800 block of Druid Hill Avenue. Police said Watson sped off in a sport utility vehicle, sideswiping other cars and driving on the sidewalk.

2 Annapolis Men Arrested After Drug Busts. Two arrests netted drugs worth tens of thousands of dollars, two stolen guns and $17,000 in cash, Annapolis police announced Thursday. City police detectives working on resident complaints and tips served two warrants Wednesday, arresting two Annapolis men. Woman Arrested In Linthicum Prostitution Sting. Police said a 19-year-old woman was arrested and charged with prostitution after an undercover sting in Anne Arundel County. Detectives conducted the sting targeting prostitution at hotels in the Linthicum area at about 9 p.m. on July 17. The investigation was initiated after authorities received complaints of prostitution in the area of Old Elkridge Landing Road and Winterson Road.
