Embattled Anne Arundel Police Chief To Retire. Embattled Anne Arundel County Police Department Chief James Teare is retiring; a move that will bring an end to an investigation into his conduct that arose after the county executive was indicted earlier this year.

Former Anne Arundel School Principal Killed. The body of a retired first principal of an Anne Arundel County High School was found in a Florida canal. Police in Davie, Fla. said two teenagers were charged with the premeditated killing of 76-year-old William Norman. Norman was the first principal of Chesapeake High School in Pasadena and the namesake of the school’s auditorium. He worked in the Anne Arundel County Public School system for nearly 30 years.

Dispute Leads To Glen Burnie Stabbing.  An 18-year-old man was stabbed following an altercation in Glen Burnie on Tuesday night. Officers were called to the 7600 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie at 10:42 p.m. Police said two men were arguing, which escalated into a stabbing. The man who stabbed the victim fled the scene, but police arrested the man, identified as Aaron Matthew Adams, at his home a short time later.

Crews Battle Playground Blaze In South Baltimore.  Baltimore City firefighters battled a blaze at a playground. Crews were called to the 2700 block of Spelman Road in Cherry Hill at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. City officials said a rubberized padding mat on the playground, measuring 20 by 50 feet, caught fire. Crews were able to extinguish the fire. Officials said the fire did not spread to any other areas of the playground. No one was injured in the fire.
